"Think Like a Man" To Do a Sequel...

I'll be the first to admit that I saw this film twice, so I think this is a good thing...

via The LATimes
It’s hardly been a secret that Sony Screen Gems has wanted to get going on a sequel to “Think Like a Man.” The studio finally made it official today, saying it’s moving ahead with a second film, hiring Keith Merryman and David A. Newman to write the script. The writing team, who also wrote “Friends With Benefits,” penned the original “Man” film.

Produced by Will Packer, “Think Like a Man” was a groundbreaking African American ensemble comedy, grossing more than $91 million in the U.S. after its theatrical opening in April. That made it one of the year’s most profitable comedies, as it only cost a rock-bottom $12 million. Almost as importantly, “Think Like a Man” just squeezed past Tyler Perry’s “Madea Goes to Jail,” which earned $90.5 million, giving the Screen Gems film some serious bragging rights in terms of box-office triumphs in the black comedy field.

Tom Cruise & Katie Holmes Split.

via the LATimes:
Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes are getting a divorce. After nearly six years of marriage, a lawyer for Holmes said Friday that the pair are calling it quits. "This is a personal and private matter for Katie and her family," attorney Jonathan Wolfe said in a statement to People, which broke the story. "Katie's primary concern remains, as it always has been, her daughter's best interest."

Artist Spotlight: Jennah Bell

Ever since I started taking guitar lessons, and even before that, I've been fascinated with chicks who can play guitar. This and this being two videos that are among my favorites to watch. So its exciting to see new young artists taking advantage of the acoustic instrument. And new upcoming artist Jennah Bell is set to get some shine on the upcoming BET Awards, read below (via Clutch Magazine):

If you watch the BET Awards, you’ve probably noticed the Music Matters segments, where unknown, unsigned, or underexposed artists get an opportunity to perform as the telecast goes to commercial break. The coveted opportunity can lead to boost in interest and attention from established producers, labels and artists. Former artists profiled include Melanie Fiona, Mali Music, and Elle Varner.

Hip Look of the Day: Emma Stone in Elie Saab.

The Amazing Spider-Man actress looked fabulous at the film's London premiere in an Elie Saab creation featuring a plunging textured top and haute high-waisted pants, topped off with pointy-toe pumps and a golden-buckled belt. I love the look.

Jennifer Hudson to Launch a Clothing Line for QVC.

via HuffPo: "American Idol" and "Dreamgirls" alum Jennifer Hudson can soon add a new occupation to her resume: fashion designer.

The singer will be the latest in a long string of celebs to put together an affordable fashion line for QVC, Women's Wear Daily reports.

Hudson, the 30-year-old singer and mom, is also a spokesperson for Weight Watchers. She recently shed 80 pounds, and she's keeping her eyes set on designing for the average woman with her new collection: the line will feature clothes from size 16 (her former size) down to size 6, her current shape.

"I’ve been a big girl and now whatever this is, the average size, whatever you want to call it," Hudson told WWD. "But I wanted the clothes to be where any girl could wear it — no matter what size you are — and you could feel comfortable in it.”

So what exactly will JHud be shilling for us to slip into? Her new collection will include a $75 sheer maxiskirt, 74.50 bodycon dress and $50 leggings; Hudson says she owns 300 pairs of leggings. The most expensive piece? A $170 coat.

Hudson, whose collection will debut on Sept. 10, joins other high profile celebs to shill lines for the home shopping channel, including Nicole Richie (who also designed maxi dresses for QVC), the Kardashians, Heidi Klum and even Rachel Zoe. Will this be the start of a big fashion career for JHud?

Usher's "Looking 4 Myself" is Out Today.

I've only heard his single "Climax" but if the rest of the album sounds as silky smooth as that song, then Mr. Usher Raymond may have a winner on his hands. Read more album reviews here, here and here. And get your own copy to listen for yourself HERE.

Celine Dion Covers Adele's "Rolling in the Deep"

I think Celine smashes Adele's song  (sings it beautifully, just fyi) and I'm not the least bit surprised. Both Adele and Celine Dion have similar skills with the acrobatics they lend to their vocals when they perform as they are both very capable, fascinating artists. Listen to Celine's performance of Adele's most popular song at her Las Vegas show below (via Gawker):

NEXT at H&M: Maison Martin Margiela...

H&M confirmed to WWD that the collaboration will hit stores Nov. 15. The fast fashion retailer’s creative advisor, Margareta van den Bosch, gave this quote: “This collaboration will be a great and memorable fashion moment.” More HERE.

Are You Ready for Fashions by Nene Leakes?

I only used "fashions" in my title as a joke. I don't like the word "fashions" FASHIONS! It sounds country to me whenever I hear it, but maybe it's just me *shrugs* Anyhoo, Linnethia "Nene" Leakes is still making major moves including starting a new clothing line according to the Hollywood Reporter:

Her goal is to be the “Queen of TV,” and now NeNe Leakes also wants to be a princess of fashion. She will reportedly be the highest-paid performer on the upcoming fifth season of Bravo's Real Housewives of Atlanta; she has a recurring role on Fox's Glee as Coach Roz Washington and a role in Ryan Murphy’s upcoming NBC sitcom The New Normal; she is an author and TV magazine correspondent; and she was a contestant on NBC's The Celebrity Apprentice.

On Tuesday, the 44-year-old mother of two announced that she has signed with global brand licensing agency Beanstalk to make her move into fashion. Beanstalk says in an announcement tied to Licensing Expo 2012, now going on in Las Vegas, that it intends to “leverage NeNe’s position in pop culture to offer consumers fashion-forward, affordable apparel and accessories, designed to empower women to walk into a room and ‘own it’ -- like NeNe herself.” No deals are signed yet, but Beanstalk will look to license a range of consumer products built around fashions that will appeal to the women who have watched her evolve on the show.

Generally, I don't cosign celebs starting clothing lines
in fact, this is how I usually feel about it...

but surprisingly I'm not really mad at this. Nene definitely has an eye for what looks great on her so I could see this working out. Continue reading the rest of this story HERE.

WATCH: Denzel Washington in "Flight" Coming Soon.

via HuffPo: Robert Zemeckis' first live-action film since 2000 harkens back to his last one, "Cast Away," as it focuses on a plane crash and its aftermath. Only instead of Tom Hanks being stranded on a deserted island with Wilson, "Flight" features Denzel Washington as a Capt. Chesley "Sully" Sullenberger-type pilot who crash lands a crumbling plane and saves everyone onboard. He's a real hero! Except for the fact that Denzel's Captain Whitaker was drunk. In theaters later this year on November 2nd. Looks interesting!

WATCH: "Transition" A Natural Hair Documentary

via Madame Noire: In an op-ed on the New York Times, the Brooklyn-based documentary maker and video artist explained the basis for her film. “There are as many ‘natural hair journeys’ as there are transitioning women. What I find remarkable about the movement is the way it is spreading through black women in America. Many are transitioning silently, without much fanfare. Some are inspired by friends and family members who have already made the switch. As Anu Prestonia, the owner of Khamit Kinks, a natural hair salon in Brooklyn, told me, ‘There’s been an evolutionary process that has turned into a revolution.’ It is not an angry movement. Women aren’t saying their motivation is to combat Eurocentric ideals of beauty. Rather, this is a movement characterized by self-discovery and health.”
