Michael Jackson's "Thriller" Jacket Sells for $1.8 Million...

A famed black-and-red calfskin jacket that Michael Jackson wore in the classic "Thriller" video has sold at auction for $1.8 million. Darren Julien, president and CEO of Julien's Auctions in Beverly Hills, says the jacket was purchased Sunday by Milton Verret, a commodities trader from Austin, Texas. The jacket is one of two Jackson wore during the filming of the 1983 "Thriller" video. Jackson wears the jacket in a scene with a troupe of zombies who rise from their graves and break into a dance routine.

Verret says the jacket will be sent on tour and used as a fundraising tool for children's charities. A portion of the sale price will go to the Shambala Preserve, a big cat sanctuary caring for two tigers Jackson one owned.

Heidi Klum Promotes Project Runway Season 9...

In a revealing new ad for the upcoming season of Project Runway, Heidi Klum leaves little to the imagination. "This is definitely sexier than past campaigns we've done," she tells PEOPLE. "I guess you could say 'Hans and Franz' are celebrating season 9." Good thing 20 fresh designers are eager to make the superstar some clothes!

The new season, which premieres July 28 (9 p.m. ET) on Lifetime, features Klum and her trusty co-judges Michael Kors and Nina Garcia, plus everyone's favorite fashion mentor Tim Gunn.

On the season premiere, the 20 chosen designers – the most ever on the show – have to stand before the judges and tell them why they deserve to make the cut. Klum, Kors and Garcia will then narrow the field to 16 and guide the contestants to what Lifetime calls "one of the toughest first challenges in the series' history." Expect fashion, fun and some serious drama.

Designer Azzedine Alaia Speaks His Mind.

On CHANEL's Karl Lagerfeld:
I don't like his fashion, his spirit, his attitude. It's too much caricature. Karl Lagerfeld never touched a pair of scissors in his life.

On Vogue's Anna Wintour:
She runs the business (Vogue) very well, but not the fashion part. When I see how she is dressed, I don't believe in her tastes one second. I can say it loudly! She hasn't photographed my work in years even if I am a best seller in the U.S. and I have 140 square meters at Barneys. American women love me; I don't need her support at all. Anna Wintour doesn't deal with pictures; she is just doing PR and business, and she scares everybody. But when she sees me, she is the scared one. [Laughs.] Other people think like me, but don't say it because they are afraid that Vogue won't photograph them. Anyway, who will remember Anna Wintour in the history of fashion? No one.

WOW.

Naomi Campbell is Adding "Designer" to Her Resume...

Naomi Campbell has presented a capsule collection of 15 denim pieces in Milan – jeans in four wearabilities with special washes – which she’s created in collaboration with Fiorucci. Starting SS 2012, the Fiorucci collection will be produced by Ittierre SpA. At their office, Naomi Campbell explained the background to her first project as a designer. Alongside the jeans, the capsule collection includes five t-shirts printed with cover stories from the magazine i-D: Naomi been on the cover on several occasions, and the magazine chose the Fiorucci shop for its own Italian debut, in 1982.

Sorry, But I DO NOT Approve of Anna Paquin's Dress..

Anna Paquin (True Blood) attempted to wow in a sparkling, belly-baring Versus minidress, Jimmy Choo clutch, Loree Rodkin jewelry and Brian Atwood pumps at the show's Hollywood premiere. The key word being "attempted" And no shade at the accessories, my beef is with the dress. What in the world are the purple things? Some type of corset detail made from Christmas tree garland? And I can't with the sheer... and we can all see your "girls" Anna. On the underside no less... smh. This dress is just not the business.

Retail Therapy is Really Real.

Now see? I knew this, so I can't say that I'm surprised. I can be walking around feeling low and crazy, and then suddenly decide to go and look around in a store to buy myself a little something, a lipstick or a cute top, and OMG. I feel better. It's like magic...

They don’t call it retail therapy for nothing. Shopping can actually make you happy, a study has found. Treating yourself to something nice at the shops apparently has a ‘lasting positive impact on mood’ and leaves ‘few if any negative emotional side-effects’.

Marilyn Monroe's Iconic White Dress Sells for $5.6 Million...

Marilyn Monroe's white "subway" dress sold for more than $5.6 million in a Beverly Hills, California auction Saturday night in which bidders paid another $2.7 million for three other Monroe movie outfits.

Collector Keya Morgan said Saturday's bids were "totally crazy, especially in this recession."
Bidding for the iconic ivory pleated dress Monroe wore in "The Seven Year Itch" was "totally magical," Morgan said.

Reynolds was in tears when, after 20 minutes of drama, the gavel sounded an end to bidding with the price at $4.6 million. With the auction company getting a $1 million commission, the buyer will pay $5.6 million. It had been expected to sell for $2 million, the auction house, Profiles in History, said.

The buyer, who was relaying his bids over a telephone, was not immediately identified.

The Appeal of "Mad Men's" Joan Holloway...

I'm someone who caught on to the "Mad Men" mania late. I mean, I remember the show winning all kinds of awards early on, but that's not what made me start watching. I think it was people's excitement about the show on Social Media (my twitter timeline would explode when it was on) that finally made me rent season one, episode one of Mad Men to check it out for myself, and from there, I was hooked (I'm currently renting season 4). There are aspects of the show that are very brazen, but the story lines keep you engaged, and let's face it, Don Draper is not too tough to look at. But a standout female lead in the show, Joan Holloway makes great tv too. Joan is my husband's hands down favorite on the show (for obvious reasons) but he also wishes he had an assistant like her, because on Mad Men, Joan knows what to do in that office and she gets the job done.

While Jon Hamm's Don Draper is the undisputed lead, the troubled and mysterious ad man with a dark past and present day jawline that delivers as many messages as his mouth, the show relies almost as much on its female scene-stealer, Joan Holloway, played by the irreplaceable Christina Hendricks.

"When we did the pilot, that was not something that we discussed as a trait for Joan," she told Parade Magazine. "This is something that's developed as a combination of the costuming on the show, the hair and makeup, my portrayal of the role, and [showrunner] Matt's [Weiner] writing. It all kind of came together and that became much more of a focus later. It was just something the audience brought attention to."

Giambattista Valli To Do a Macy's Line?

Animal print dress from Giambattista Valli's Resort 2011 collection

via NYMag: In the ever-saturating market of designer diffusion lines, rumor has it Giambattista Valli will be the next fancy designer to announce one of his own. WWD reports in a story eerily titled "Valli of the Malls" that Valli will do a line with Macy's, following the one Karl Lagerfeld's doing for the chain coming out in September. Valli would be the last in this four-designer series, created by Macy's to get teens and fashion people excited about their juniors section. Macy's would not comment on the Valli rumors, but of all the designers who have done diffusion lines, Valli's is particularly hard to imagine since he's known for extravagant, doorway-challenging tulle ball gowns. Of course, the reputations of great designers like Alexander McQueen didn't stop them from doing one-off lines. It feels like luxury labels who haven't done or aren't planning these lines are in the minority. No one from LVMH has done one, at least.

Well I vote YES for this. I'm all about diffusion designer lines, whether it's Target (I'm gonna be all over Missoni there this fall, TRUST) H&M, Macy's, GAP or where ever, all fashion doesn't have to have a luxury price tag.

Lauryn Hill Expecting Her 6th Child...

36-year-old Grammy winner Lauryn Hill announced she is pregnant with her sixth child at the end of her Detroit concert on Saturday. "I'm going to be taking time off to give birth," she told the crowd.

The singer, who already has five children with Rohan Marley (son of reggae legend Bob Marley), first hinted about her pregnancy during a concert at L.A.'s Club Nokia in April.

"I keep having these children. I don't know if I'm the most fertile woman in America," she said. "I've got five big children, you believe that? If you ask anybody I went to high school with, they'd be puzzled. Wait till you hear the big secret, though."

Hill and Marley's other children are Zion David-Nesta, Selah, Joshua, John and Sarah.

Giselle Bündchen, First Supermodel Worth Billions?

via People: According to Forbes magazine, the publication reports that the Brazilian-born, world's highest-paid supermodel since 2004 is on track to become the first billionaire in her field.

Besides being the face (and other parts) of Versace and Dior, the business-savvy 30-year-old aims to brand herself with her own line of jewelry, "green" cosmetics and lingerie, as well as sandals, says Forbes.

The publication also lauds her real-estate holdings. Among her properties, it reports: a hotel in the south of Brazil, land in an upper-crust region of Bahia, a villa in Costa Rica and a Brentwood, Calif., estate that she and Brady purchased for $11 million (for the land alone) and will reportedly spend another $20 million to develop.

When the gold dust settles, Forbes speculates, not only will Bündchen be the first billionaire supermodel, but also the first Brazilian female self-made billionaire. To borrow a term from Brady's game, touchdown.
