I finally finished my gingham dress, and even though I still have exhausting fights with zippers I'm pretty happy with how it turned out. My inspiration for this dress came from the pic below and I found the fabric at Walmart at a fab price a few months back. See a few more pics of my completed dress here.

Gwen Stefani attended Fashion Group International's 26th annual Night Of Stars at Cipriani, Wall Street on October 22, 2009 in New York City. And aside from the fact that I'm one of her stans anyway, I think she's bringing it in this look. Well played Gwen. Well played.

Sheree and Dwight disagree on the "She by Sheree" fashion show.

Hilary Duff was spotted filming her new ABC Family TV movie, "The Business of Falling in Love", in New York City on October 20, 2009. And Tracee Ellis Ross wore the same Prada dress last year to a CHANEL event at a boutique in Beverly Hills. Remember when I posted about Tracee wearing all this eye-popping brightness? This color combination is just... difficult. What do ya'll think?

The jumpsuit trend is one that I never would have thought I'd be excited about. And yet, here we are. I could honestly see myself wearing ANY one of the ones shown above. And I even have a few jumpsuit ideas in mind that I want to sew. This is a HUGE change from about a year ago when I thought the look was completely ridiculous. Why the 180? I honestly think it's a chic look, and maybe it took seeing them and seeing them and seeing them some more before they started to grow on me, but I'm actually feeling the whole vibe of jumpsuits now. But I want to know what YOU think. Do you like them? Hate them? Don't care? Would YOU wear them? I wanna know your style verdict.

OSLO — President Barack Obama won the 2009 Nobel Peace Prize on Friday in a stunning decision designed to encourage his initiatives to reduce nuclear arms, ease tensions with the Muslim world and stress diplomacy and cooperation rather than unilateralism.
Many observers were shocked by the unexpected choice so early in the Obama presidency, which began less than two weeks before the Feb. 1 nomination deadline and has yet to yield concrete achievements in peacemaking.
The Norwegian Nobel Committee countered that it was trying "to promote what he stands for and the positive processes that have started now." It lauded the change in global mood wrought by Obama's calls for peace and cooperation, and praised his pledges to reduce the world stock of nuclear arms, ease American conflicts with Muslim nations and strengthen the U.S. role in combating climate change.

I stopped using foam rollers ages ago because they'd literally rip out my hair when I took them out. Not. Cool. At. All. So imagine my shock when I rolled up on (pun not really intended, but I'm keeping it..) a pack of satin wrapped foam rollers a little while ago when I was in Walmart. It was like a light bulb moment, but one I wished I had thought of first because it's honestly a genius idea. Anyhoo, the pack I purchased was a multi-sized pack of small, medium and large satin wrapped rollers. I usually just use the large ones, separating my hair into about 8 sections and using a small amount of mousse. I wrap it up and by morning I have the result you see above. A rather healthy set of bouncy curls! LOVE! So imagine using the tiny and the medium rollers for a tighter, sassier, but still very healthy curl.. I'm inspired to experiment!
Actress Garcelle Beauvais-Nilon arrived at the 2nd Annual March of Dimes "Signature Chefs Auction" at the SLS Hotel on October 5, 2009 in Beverly Hills, California. Love this color on her. And OMG, don't even get me started on the pockets (LOVE!) A nice, casually chic fall look.

On the heels of her appearance in comedian Chris Rock's documentary "Good Hair," actress Nia Long and ESSENCE invited five smart and stylish women—singer Solange Knowles; singer Ledisi; TV host Tanika Ray; celebrity hairstylist Ursula Stephen; and writer and producer Tonya Lewis Lee—for a provocative discussion about Black women's love-hate relationship with their hair in the article "The Root of the Issue." The exchanges between the women, moderated by ESSENCE beauty and cover director Mikki Taylor, range from hilarious to heartbreaking, but they all keep it real on this hot-button issue.

Actress Nia Long arrived at the Los Angeles premiere of "Good Hair" at the Majestic Crest Theatre on October 1, 2009 in Los Angeles, California.
I like the look on her personally. On me, I wouldn't have the top plunging as much. But that being said, from Nia's hair (hers?) to her makeup, to her fabulously moisturized skin, to her blouse, to her shorts, to her shoes, I think it's a cute look. What do you think?

And had Tupac not died a tragic, senseless, violent death, I think he would have still looked great too. Celebs from top to bottom: "Ugly Betty's" Ana Ortiz, Erykah Badu, Mary J. Blige, MC Lyte, Missy Elliott, Amy Poehler (love that pic of her..) Sanaa Lathan, Tupac, Sean Wayans, Sophia Coppolla, Rachel Zoe, Jada Pinkett Smith, Snoop, and Regina King were all born the same year I was (according to Google anyways) And I'm an October birthday girl so my birthday is coming up soon! Yay!
