Kelly Clarkson unsuccessfully fought her record label not to release "Already Gone" as the third single off her new album, as the music is the same as the music from Beyonce's hit "Halo." Clarkson co-wrote the lyrics and was provided the track by producer Ryan Tedder who had, unbeknownst to her, given the same track to Beyonce. By the time Clarkson heard Halo and realized what had happened, her album had printed and shipped and it was too late to omit the track.
Clarkson told the Canadian Broadcasting Company: "No one's gonna be sittin' at home, thinking 'Man, Ryan Tedder gave Beyoncé and Kelly the same track to write to.' " she said. "No, they're just gonna be saying I ripped someone off...
"I fought and fought" to stop it, she said, but couldn't. "In the end, they're releasing it without my consent," says a frustrated Clarkson. "It sucks, but it's one of those things I have no control over. I already made my album. At this point, the record company can do whatever they want with it. It's kind of a sh- - -y situation, but . . . you know, you learn."

Past contestants are coming back to compete again and the cast has piqued our interest. It includes Daniel Vosovic (season two), Santino Rice (season two), Jeffrey Sebelia (season three), Uli Herzner (season three), Mychael Knight (season three), Chris March (season four), Sweet P (season four), and Korto Momolu (season five). Eight people is half of a normal Runway cast. This special program was shot over a week earlier this month. The format is similar to regular episodes, but All-Star episodes are longer and include "a few more twists." The winner gets $100,000. Jeffrey is the only previous winner to join the cast.

Solange Knowles was spotted out recently and she actually took it there with her hair cutting it all the way down to the quick. I'm guessing she was over the extreme maintenance of long hair maybe? Anyhoo, what do you think? *UPDATE* Solange says (via Twitter via People.com) that she really doesn't care what you think about her hair...

NBA star Shaquille O'Neal is getting ready to multitask. The four-time hoops champion, who joins the Cleveland Cavaliers next season, will star in Shaq Vs., an ABC reality series that pits him against top athletes in their own sports.
Filming begins Wednesday in Pittsburgh, where Shaq takes on Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger in football. Future hour-long episodes will pit him against Olympic swimmer Michael Phelps, retired boxer Oscar De La Hoya, St. Louis Cardinals first baseman Albert Pujols, tennis pro Serena Williams and beach volleyball Olympians Misty May-Treanor and Kerri Walsh.
O'Neal, 37, says he also hopes to book pal Lance Armstrong for a cycling competition once the Tour de France ends.
The series is set to premiere Aug. 18 and will air Tuesdays at 9 ET/PT.
O'Neal says he came up with the idea as a fun way to help train for the NBA season and figured sports fans "would really want to see an athlete play another sport." He knew most of the athletes and recruited some of them on Twitter.
ABC was immediately interested. "He's very playful, almost everyone can relate to him. He has a fun sort of childish persona, and at the same time he's a superstar," says John Saade, co-chief of ABC's reality programming, says of the 7-foot-1 O'Neal. "Our real hope is you come for the absurdity but you stay for the sport."

On July 7, Michael Jackson's family gathered to celebrate him at his much-watched memorial service. Noticeably absent? Janet Jackson's longtime music-exec boyfriend, Jermaine Dupri. (A pal says Dupri skipped the memorial because he "doesn't attend funerals.") And for good reason. "His friends are telling people it's over," a source tells the new issue of Us Weekly, on stands now. Echoes another: "They have been moving in different directions for a while."
So what drove Jackson, 43, and Dupri, 36, apart after nearly seven years? "You shouldn't mix business with pleasure," a mutual pal explains. (Dupri produced several tracks on her last two CDs.) "Janet felt their lives were too crossed and they should have kept things sepa rate." Plus, the polar opposites were never too compatible. "Jermaine likes to be out there, mingling with everybody, and Janet's more shy." (And secretive: She kept her nine-year marriage to Rene Elizondo hidden until their 2000 divorce.)
Meanwhile, Jackson is still deeply mourning the death of her big brother. "She's devastated," an insider says. "She's busy caring for Michael's kids. Janet's the family's backbone."
Jackson's rep couldn't be reached.
Which really doesn't mean anything, because I'm not on her "glam squad." But that brings me to my point. SOMEBODY on her team should have BATTED THIS DRESS DOWN. The answer to the question that is this dress, should have been NO. And Kobe really shouldn't be looking so pleased with himself, I'm not really feeling his look either.
I swear, Jennifer Aniston does "plain" better than anybody I can think of. And yes, that's a compliment. She looks really cute here, like she's not even trying. So many people try to strike that balance and end up doing too much. Jennifer gets it. Well played Jennifer, well played.

Solange Knowles performed in San Francisco recently at the LGBT Pride Parade in this colorful superhero jumpsuit from Zentai. Most bloggers I've read have been hating on her for this look, but here's what I think. Maybe Solange is waaay out in front of the rest of us here. Maybe Solange IS so 3008 and the rest of us are so 2 thousand and LATE. Maybe we all need to take another look and copy Solange's swagger cuz she's on that next ish now.
Beyoncé and Tina Knowles are looking to capitalize more on Sasha Fierce.
Utilizing the name of the singer’s alter ego and third solo album, “I Am…Sasha Fierce,” the mother and daughter design team plans to launch a new junior apparel label, Sasha Fierce for Deréon, for back-to-school selling. The collection, which is inspired by Beyoncé’s stage presence (she is on a world tour through November), includes a full range of sportswear, outerwear, handbags, footwear, eyewear, lingerie and jewelry. Positioned to sit alongside the company’s Deréon junior label, which is similarly priced, the line has so far been picked up by department stores including Macy’s and Dillard’s and specialty stores Jimmy Jazz and Against All Odds.
The collection, Tina said, is “edgier and trendier and reflects Sasha Fierce’s daring and outgoing attitude.”
The jewelry, shoes and eyewear, she added, “are really over the top” with large chains made in mixed metals such as silver with gold, heavily studded shoes and oversize sunglasses such as the ones Beyoncé has been seen wearing on tour. The clothes are a little more subdued to make the accessories stand out — a one-shoulder dress, black bodysuit, fake leather jacket with oversize collar, leggings and destructed jeans with mesh and lace details lining the ripped material.
