Here we go again. According to the Daily News, Juicy Couture is now suing Victoria's Secret for putting their PINK logo on the backside of their sweatpants because Juicy Couture says that they did it first, it was their idea and nobody else can do it. Ok, I added some of that. But Juicy says about the Victoria's Secret brand that, "the similarities are inadvertent, and are designed to capitalize on the success of Juicy Couture".. of which [Juicy] happened to make $420 million in sales last year. Juicy Couture wants a judge to order that all the offending clothes be destroyed and they also want to be awarded triple damages.
My question is this. Can you protect where you put a logo on clothing? Because it seems to me that that would be extremely limiting. If someone puts a logo on a shoulder of a top, then no one else can put their logo on a shoulder of a top because someone else did it first? Are you serious? Plus, I don't see where the "Juicy" logo and the "PINK" logos are all that similar. Sure, they're going after the same target market (20-something, collegiates) but excuse me if I'm wrong, but isn't that called competition? Isn't it capitalism at it's core? Look, I'm a fan of both brands, I've owned a pair of powder blue Juicy sweats (I've since sold them online for a nice profit on Ebay..) and I still own all of my PINK sweats (perfect for all your downtime lounging). I don't know how much money Victoria's Secret made last year, but I just have a bit of a problem with a company [Juicy] that made close to half a BILLION dollars last year crying foul over someone giving them a bit of competition. But that's just what I think, if anyone has a different insight or opinion on all of this, I'd love to hear another perspective.

Franca Sozzani, editor-in-chief of Vogue Italia, told The Independent on Sunday: "We are using a lot of black models, like Iman, not only the models of today – a lot of different girls." Asked why she had decided to do this, she said: "Because nobody is using black girls. I see so many beautiful girls and they were complaining that they are not used enough."
Sarah Doukas, managing director of model agency Storm, says: "There has been frustration over the years from a lot of ethnic models, stylists and editors who have felt that they were not working as much as some of their Caucasian counterparts."
But she added: "There has been a shift recently: supportive media coverage has had an impact on the fashion industry."

I recently had the chance to sample the wonderfully tasting organic chocolates from Vosges Haut-Chocolate who just happens to be a company with a "green" mission (click here to see for yourself..). Indulging in a decadent chocolate will ALWAYS be a treat for me. I consider myself a lifelong chocoholic, so people who don't quite care for it continue to be an enigma.
Visit Vosges Haut-Chocolate. And click on the pic above to learn more about their Green Collection.

This is the line to get into the Sephora Grand Opening before it got real thick. The first 100 people were given free gift cards ranging from $5 to $100! Mine was $10...
The line to check out was wrapped around the inside of the store. This is what I purchased. I got $10 off!
This is the pink and black (Hip Candy!) ensemble I wore to the Sephora Grand opening, not even realizing that I would be coordinated with the Sephora bag, lol! All in all, I'm glad the store's finally here...

My first thought was, what? They're actually making a whole movie about George W. Bush??? Wow. Seems it's true, according to the Drudge Report, Thandie is apparently in final negotiations to play current Secretary of State, Condoleeza Rice in the flick directed by Oliver Stone. And nothing against Thandie, I like her and I've always thought that she was as cute as a button, but her being cast in this role seems a bit of a stretch to me. But hey, she may surprise us all, I guess that's why it's called "acting". Still, I won't let that stop me from casting the role myself from the sidelines. My personal picks of actresses to read for the role of Condoleeza would have been (1) Kimberly Elise, (2) Angela Bassett, or (3) Sanaa Lathan. What do ya'll think?

Well, it looks as though all the reports were true. We now have confirmation of the Knowles/Carter nuptials.. well, let me clarify that, we have as much confirmation as you can have from an "unconfirmed source" So I guess people can take that for what it's worth. Anyone who reads this site knows that I'm not the biggest Beyonce/Jay-Z fan, even though I stan for a couple of their songs which will remain nameless. That being said, if they did indeed get married on Friday, April 4, 2008, and this is not some kind of elaborate hoax, then congratulations to them.

Don't expect to see ANYTHING from the House of Dereon here, lol! These are all beautifully designed gowns from Oscar de la Renta's Spring 2008 bridal collection. Even though I'm probably already too late if the Knowles/Carter nuptials are indeed going down today (could it be true?), still I won't let that stop me from offering up a suggestion on Beyonce's wedding gown. My personal pick for the soon to be Mrs. Carter comes down the runway stretch at about the :36 second mark. Fabulous.

I spotted this over at My Fashion Life. Seriously, who thought this was a good idea? I remember having a pair back when they were big the last time (the pair I owned looked more like these..), and yes, they were extremely popular and novel items, but that doesn't excuse the fact that they reduced your feet to this horrible, sweaty, soggy mess. So much so to the point where if you had them on long enough, you'd literally be walking around in a pool of your own sweat juices. Glamourous. But hey, if I can't make you listen to reason, and you find yourself still craving a pair, check them out here and here.
